HOW TO CREATE HEAT START LISTS FROM RESULTS

Are you organizing an event which consists of:

- Qualification round (e.g. individual time trial)
- Quarterfinal / Semifinal heats to advance to next round
- Final heat to determine e.g the top 6

A new tool allows you to select racers from qualification or preliminary heat results for the next round's start list.  To access this tool, follow these steps:

- Navigate to Organizers / My start lists
- Click on the "Post start lists from results" menu button

The following example demonstrates how to use the tool for the following type of race:

- Cross-country skiing sprint race
- All racers complete a qualifying round which is an individual time trial
- Top 12 racers advance to the 2 semifinals
- Top 2 plus 2 fastest time "lucky losers" advance to the final

The tool does not automate who advances, but allows you to view the results from both semifinals to manually select the fastest 2 racers that did not place in the top 2 in each heat.

Before the event, it is helpful to create a results series of type "Race group" which gives you a single link where all the results from the event can be found:

- Navigate to Organizers / My results
- Click on the "Add a new results series" menu button
- Select "Results series type = Race group"
- Specify the number of results in the series
- The results can then be added to the series when posting each race from the app.
